We want this site to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard, or a phone with motion turned down. Here is what we have done and what to do if something is in your way.
What this site does
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, and there is a “skip to content” link at the top of each one.
- Focus outlines are visible and deliberately not removed.
- All buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels, so they are reachable with a thumb.
- Photographs carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers rather than announced.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the animations here stop — nothing moves, fades or slides, and no content is hidden as a result.
- Text is set on a cream background in a dark brown for contrast, and the page reflows without sideways scrolling down to a 320-pixel-wide screen.
- The menu, hours and prices are real text, not pictures of text, so they can be enlarged, read aloud or translated.
Where we know we fall short
This site has not yet been formally audited against WCAG, so we are not going to claim a conformance level we have not earned. We would rather fix real problems than post a badge.
The news video on our story page is hosted by Facebook, and its player and captions are outside our control.
Visiting the cafe
Our drive-thru is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, which some people find easier than coming inside. If you would like to know about access into the building before you make the trip, please call us and ask — we would rather tell you honestly than have you arrive and find out.
